We, the Discalced Brothers of the Blessed Virgin Mary of Mt. Carmel are descended from the prophetic community of Hermits on Mt. Carmel. We are renewed by St. Teresa of Jesus & St. John of the Cross. It is our conviction that we are called to be witnesses to Gospel values in the Philippines as members of the Roman Catholic Church. We, as Teresian Carmelites, hold as essential the following aspects of our life: |

A LIFE OF PRAYER- By Prayer we mean community prayer & silent prayer according to the spirit of our Holy Parents. FRATERNAL LIFE- By fraternal life we mean living in community. It is incumbent upon us that our lifestyle be simple & that we live as friends so as to be attentive to the needs & aspirations of our own brothers. A LIFE OF SERVICE- By a life of service we mean our apostolic endeavors for the People of God, which flow from & complement our life of prayer & community. We commit ourselves to serve those who share in our Carmelite vocation & charism as well as the local Churches through collaborative ministry with parishes, basic ecclesial communities (BEC), prayer groups & lay animators, poor & marginalized and the youth.
